About us
Over 40 years locally owned and operated
Established in 1981 (as Toledo Technologies) by Tom Prior, Toltec Scale
has been central in the New Zealand weighing industry ever since. Over
40 years later Tom is still a key part of Toltec, working as a technical
consultant, and guiding our technical team, with the passion that reared
the company back in 1981.
Under Tom’s leadership he established Mettler Toledo’s brand
introduction into New Zealand. Tom has passed the batten onto his son
Lori, who is the owner and general manager. Leading a large nationwide
team Lori is himself a trained scale technician, installer, fabricator and
truck driver Lori too has a long history in the weighing industry. He is
proud of the pedigree and history of performance of the company.
Toltec has thrived since its inception whereas many others have not.
Toltec offers a wide range of new technology weighbridge and weighing
solutions and operate nationally, throughout the Pacific and in
Antarctica.
We are not just about new technology. We fix and service older tech
equipment that others cant. We do this because we have the technical
know-how and expertise. Having access to spare parts means we can, if
economic to repair, keep perfectly good equipment in operation.
